My latest 3D project: A 3D model of the character ‘Ra’ from the movie ‘Stargate’, but with the headdress because I’m not quite good enough to try human faces, even if they are, or were, possessed by evil aliens.
Had fun modelling this mask, the new techniques to shape the face were different from the usual, so I learned a lot quite a bit in making this. ^_^ it was fun!
When I’d finished the entire headdress, I decided to try and play around with the animation tools to see if I could get an animated gif of Ra’s headdress rotating around and around and around… Unfortunately with the combination of my laptop’s capability and the programs ability… after a while of checking how it looks through the camera’s POV, the entire proportion gets a little wonky. And by wonky I mean that if you tried to rotate it, gravity would stretch the horizon down and the main object up as if the world were collapsing in on itself. Sometimes I felt like I was clinging to Ra’s shoulders just to keep myself from flying off the face of the planet! Usually at that point I decide that ‘hey, its two in the morning, I might as well fall asleep now.’
Right now I’ve got the body done, but the arms and hands will take forever… And I have to do them separate from the body so I can animate them. ^_^ Should be fun… I have no idea what to make it do when I do animate 3D-Ra so suggestions are welcome!
thanks! Um... this took about five or six hours... most of it working on the face. I'm doing the body and the arms right now, but that will take ages XD hands are about as easy to make in 3D as they are to draw!
I'll try to model real people soon... I'm not that good yet... ^_^ cartoon 3Ds are cool though thanks for the comment!

hey hon! i see yer real busy with the 3d modellin stuff.
you know what? i'd suggest you get something like 3d Max or some software with a bit more "omph" to it. and it'd be better if you didn't use it on yer laptop, coz you'd need a pretty decent comp to do all the renderin and stuff. i don't think you'd have a problem with your pieces going all wonky either.
great dev btw.
later!
and star gate is a goooooood movie!
